Several Autonomous Communities have published a Valencian call for subsidies from European funds for the trade sector , with very significant direct aid aimed at digitalisation and technological improvement. In some cases, such as in Andalusia, they not only admit future expenses, but also investments and expenses made in part of 2022.
Depending on the case, companies, self-employed persons or trade associations may benefit from them. In addition to the usual conditions for this type of aid, the main requirement is to be part of an activity linked to trade.

1.- SUBSIDIES TO UPDATE AND PROMOTE THE COMMERCIAL SECTOR IN ANDALUCIA
- The deadline for applications is March 1, 2023.
- Electronic processing with the digital certificate of the applicant or representative.
- Project payment is 100%.
- Submission of a brief report with the application.
- Applicants are both individuals and legal entities.
- Compatibility with other aids.

- Expenses incurred since May 9, 2022 for the execution of a part of the project are accepted.
- Execution three months after granting.
- Justification up to one month after completion of execution.
With funds from the Recovery and Resilience Mechanism, and called by , these subsidies develop the Trade Modernization Program: Technological Fund, one of the actions planned in investment I4, Support for trade, which is inserted in Component 13, Boost to SMEs, of the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan.
Under a non-competitive regime, its objective is to promote business innovation and adaptation to new commercial formulas and consumer habits, the revitalization of sales in commercial areas and activities, the commercial revitalization of commercial areas and facilities, and the promotion of digitalization and the use of new technologies.
These aids are divided into two lines:
- Line 1 for commercial SMEs.
- Line 2 for trade associations.

2.- SUBSIDIES TO UPDATE AND PROMOTE THE COMMERCIAL SECTOR IN EXTREMADURA
- The deadline for applications is March 30, 2023.
- Electronic processing with the digital certificate of the applicant or representative.
- Eligible amount from 1,500 to 50 thousand euros.
- 80% project financing.
- Payment of aid until June 30th.
- Justification of aid until July 15.
Very similar to that of Andalusia, it is oriented towards two lines of action:
- Small and medium-sized companies in the commercial sector registered in activities included in codes 45, 46 or 47 of the CNAE.
- Associations, as well as associative entities that integrate several legally constituted associations, federations and confederations based in Extremadura.

3.- GRANTS TO UPDATE AND PROMOTE THE COMMERCIAL SECTOR IN THE CANARY ISLANDS
- The deadline for applications is July 31, 2023.

- 95% project funding.
The following may be eligible for subsidy:
- New technology projects aimed at improving different areas of online and communication strategy, business model and shopping experience.
- New technology projects for adapting the physical sales space.
- Technological solutions projects to improve the efficiency and sustainability of last mile delivery
- Initiatives to apply technological solutions to improve efficiency in energy and resource consumption.
4.- GRANTS FOR SME DIGITALIZATION PROJECTS 2023 (DIGITALIZA 2023 GRANTS) IN THE VALENCIAN COMMUNITY (SMEs IN GENERAL, WITH EXCEPTIONS)
- The period is open from January 19 to March 2.
- Only SMEs from the Valencian Community, with activities included in the following CNAE sections:
- Sections C, D, E and F-Divisions 10 to 43, except CNAE 4110 (Real estate development).
- Section H-Divisions 49 to 52.
- Section M-Division 72
- In no case may companies that carry out financial or real estate activities, primary production of agricultural products or that operate in the fishing and aquaculture sectors, or whose main activity is trade, be beneficiaries.
- Maximum 1 project per company.
- Maximum aid 100 thousand euros.
- Financing of 30% of the project.
SMEs with registered offices or production facilities located in the Valencian Community at the time of submitting the application, which carry out activities falling within one of the following sections of the National Classification of Economic Activities (CNAE 2009), approved by Royal Decree 475/2007, of April 13 (BOE No. 102, of April 28, 2007):
a) Sections C, D, E and F – Divisions 10 to 43, except CNAE 4110 (Real estate development).
b) Section H – Divisions 49 to 52.
c) Section M – Division 72
5.- SUBSIDY FOR DIGITALIZATION PROJECTS FOR TOURIST AND HOSPITALITY COMPANIES IN ASTURIAS
- The period is open from January 19 to March 2.
- SMEs in the tourism and hospitality sector in Asturias.
- Support for up to 80% of the project, with a project cap of €10,000 and a grant of €8,000.
- For technological training projects and the incorporation of emerging technologies into the company to contribute to digital transformation.
- Application period: From February 2 to February 22, 2023.
- Projects that allow correcting deficient factors, mainly technological, investment in premises and equipment.
- Self-employed workers and SMEs established after April 30, 2021 (less than 2 years old).
- Support of up to 50% of the project, with a project cap of €10,000 and a grant of €5,000. Minimum investment of €1,500
- Application period: From January 6 to February 17, 2023.
